DTPM attends Pain Week Conference

DTPM attends Pain Week Conference

Drug Testing’s Role in Pain Management

PAINWeek is the largest US pain conference for frontline clinicians involved in pain management.  The event, held in Las Vegas this year from September 5th to 9th, offered a diverse curriculum ranging from interventional pain management to pharmacotherapy and chemical dependency.  Full day programs were presented by the American Pain Society and the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, among others.

As part of DTPM’s goal to stay on the cutting edge of both technology and information, we appreciated the opportunity to learn more about drug testing as a useful tool in pain management.

For doctors dealing with a patient’s chronic pain or working in a pain management setting, even basic urine drug testing (UDT) provides valuable, objective information to assist in the course of therapy.  Point of Care cups that use immunoassay testing and provide fast, easy-to-read results help doctors diagnose issues of drug misuse or addiction relapse as early as possible.

When dealing with pain management, even the detection of an illicit drug does not necessarily invalidate the patient’s pain complaint, but it does provide critical information about the complexity of the patient’s care needs.

At DTPM, we know that, to be useful, POC cups must be simple to use, deliver quick, accurate results, and be easy to read.

Drug Screening Cups

Through our online store, DTPM offers drug screening cups ranging from 5 panel screens to 10 and 12 panel tests.

Because results of urine drug testing can alter the course of treatment and even change the course of lives, our focus is on providing products that are both sensitive and very clear in displaying results. Unless the drug screen can be read with confidence, then the convenience of fast, on-site testing can lead to unacceptable errors.
